Let me introduce myself...

I love teaching students of all ages! After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from California State University, I acquired my teaching credentials for K-12th grade. In my third year of teaching 5th grade, I helped a struggling student learn how to read and discovered a passion for teaching reading and writing. I have spent the majority of my teaching career as an elementary teacher. In 2015, my family and I moved to Dalhart, Texas where I taught first grade for four years and obtained my Texas Certifications. In 2019, I volunteered to teach high school English when there was an open position announced at my district’s convocation. I spent four more years teaching high school English in Dalhart, Texas (ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade) and one year teaching high school English in Clayton, New Mexico (eleventh and twelfth grade). I have a strong background in working with families to foster learning for every student including students with special needs and those who are learning English as a second language.

I live with my husband and we’ve been married for 32 years! We have five adult children and three grandchildren. We are enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery in the hill country and spending time with our children and grandchildren who live in the area.
