Bertram Elementary Pays Tribute to Veterans

The Veterans and audience members from the community were dazzled with  songs, poems, the postings of the flags, and the walk of honor from Bertram Students.  Numerous Veterans, current and past, were in the audience and stood proudly to represent their particular branch of service during a performance of the "Armed Forces Salute.”  The performance concluded with “God Bless the USA” sang by both students and audience members.

In addition, there was a special guest speaker! Bertram Elementary’s 5thgrade math teacher spoke to the audience about her experience in the United States Army.  Ms. Zachos served in the US Army as a paratrooper and Spanish Linguist from 1998 -2001.  She served in the 313thMilitary Intelligence Battalion, 82ndAirborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. She held a top-secret security clearance and is a distinguished honor graduate in Electronic Warfare - Voice Interceptor Spanish.  Ms. Zachos shared that she was incredibly humble to speak about her time in the military and share her experiences with the Bertram community.

Bertram Elementary was proud to honor the men and women who served our country and pay tribute to local Veterans.
