Dear BCISD Families and Staff,
We wanted to keep you updated as we continue to monitor the winter weather and its potential impact on our schools for tomorrow and Friday. While the forecast shows temperatures hovering around freezing on Thursday, even a slight change in either direction could significantly affect conditions. We remain vigilant to ensure everyone's safety.
With our district covering 700 square miles and bus routes that stretch in every direction, we have to take into account conditions across all areas. Even if main roads in town appear clear, rural routes can pose different challenges that might affect bus transportation and overall safety.
We also consider the commutes of our teachers and staff, many of whom travel from outside the district. Their safety, along with that of our students, is at the forefront of our decision-making.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will communicate any decisions as soon as they are made. Your patience and understanding during this process are greatly appreciated, as safety remains our top priority.
Thank you for staying informed, and we’ll keep you posted with any updates.
