Lanette Lough

Hi!  My name is Lanette Lough.  I live in Burnet with my loving husband, two fantastic kids, our spunky little dog, and our 2 lazy cats.  I graduated from Burnet High School and received my Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M - WHOOP!
This will be my 22 year of teaching.  I am excited to make this the best year yet!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, help me instill a LOVE of reading with your child.  Have your child read every night for 30 minutes.  Make the reading fun with your child:  your child can read the whole book, you can read aloud together, or you read a page and he/she reads a page.  Encourage him/her to try different genres or choose a series.  *MAKE READING FUN*
Also, we try to have students memorize their addition and subtraction facts to 20.  So, jump on board and practice fast math facts with your child.  Make the fast facts fun with your child:  call out fact problems in the car or at the dinner table (6+6 is, 8+8 is, 6+4 is, 10-6 is, 18-9 is), play card games, or roll a dice and add and subtract.  *MAKE MATH FUN*
