Alicia Harris - Principal

Hello! I am very excited to be serving as the Principal of Bertram Elementary for the 2019-2020 school year. This is my fourteenth year in education. I have served as an Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, and teacher. I began my career teaching exceptional children as a Special Education teacher. In 2009, I earned a Masters degree in Education from Lamar University. My undergraduate degree is from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas.

I enjoying spending time with my husband, Eric, our daughter, Clara, and dogs, Ladybird and Sam. We love traveling, sight-seeing, and being adventurous. I am anticipating a wonderful year for the teachers, students, and families of Bertram Elementary.

Our newsletter, the Bertram Family Connection, is posted on our main web page each week. We email a copy to families as well.  You can also find it by following us on Facebook, just search for Bertram Elementary.

Friday, August 23 is a student holiday. After getting to know students the first few days of school, Friday allows teachers to make adjustments in the classroom, and plan for the first six weeks based on the specific needs of students. Also, Friday allows the Transportation Department to make any needed adjustments to bus routes.  We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, August 26
